The Shade’s Admissions Consultation

In accordance with the procedures detailed in the School Admissions Code (2014), Section 1.42 we are consulting on the Admissions Policy for The Shade’s Primary School.  This consultation with regard to changes to the school's Admissions Policy with run from 12 November 2019 and will conclude at midnight on Tuesday 24 December 2019.

We would welcome your views on the proposed admissions arrangements, which introduce the following changes for admission from September 2021 for the academic year 2021 - 2022 and thereafter

1. The amendment of criteria 2 – update of definition of siblings
2. The insertion of a new criterion relating to the children of staff, to be criteria 5, as follows:

Priority will next be given to children of staff at the school, in either of the following circumstances:
a) The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, or
b) The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage

On conclusion of the consultation on 24 December 2019 all responses will be collated and presented to the Trust Board for full consideration.  The outcome will then be notified to all parents/carers by 27 January and the full report will be available on our website.
