Forest School

We are very excited to be able to offer weekly Forest School sessions to our Pre-school children.

Forest School provides children with an opportunity to participate in unrestricted play in a natural play environment in almost all weathers. Forest school teaches children about the world around them through hands-on experiences that will encourage them to grow as individuals, develop their confidence, well-being and self-esteem. Children will develop an understanding of the natural world whilst learning about taking safe risks and how to risk assess.

The Forest School Star of Emotional Intelligence is based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and describes the areas of Emotional Wellbeing that are developed through Forest School sessions.

Our Forest School sessions are led by a qualified Forest School Leader and are held every Wednesday Morning in a natural area on our school field. It is a natural space that is still developing. Within the site there is a mix of deciduous trees and hedgerows including Oak, Birch and Hawthorne, a muddy hill and a fire circle. It is a really peaceful location that is safe for our children to begin their forest school learning journey.
